Alisa Hughley, MPH is Principal at enBloom Media, LLC. For more than a decade she has worked with healthcare systems from Maryland to New York, assessing community health needs, developing strategic plans, and building corporate capacity in outreach and communications. Her current focus is assisting companies engage the community and raise health literacy for organ donation and end-of-life (advance) planning. She designed and implemented an issue forum to educate preteen girls in HIV/AIDS prevention. This partnership between a civic organization and HHS Office of Women’s Health won the 2002 Community Collaborative Award. Before this, she designed and implemented the health communications campaign, the Healthy Families Program, a national initiative of the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association (BCBSA) provided to Federal Health Benefit plan members by the marketing teams of individual independent BCBSA plans. Hughley has taught bioethics at Howard University College of Medicine to students across all the health science disciplines. She actively tests and adopts new technologies to assist with engagement. This led to her participating on the team awarded 2nd place at the Health Data Intiative's Obesity Code-A-Thon in 2012 and her selection to attend TEDMED as a FrontLine Scholar the same year.
